The Business Need

The Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) is a provincial Crown corporation established in 1973 to provide auto insurance to BC motorists. In addition, the Corporation is responsible for driver licensing, vehicle registration, and vehicle licensing. ICBC wanted to provide its brokers with a user-friendly, online alternative to the inefficient paper-based forms used to sell certain Optional Insurance policies.

The Solution

ICBC partnered with Habañero Consulting Group to design and develop a scalable web-based solution called Web Policies. Habañero designed the solution's information architecture and online forms, and also worked closely with ICBC to test the solution in the Corporation's lab.
