Burnaby, BC — February 24, 2007
Venue: BCIT (SW5 - 1840) — 3700 Willingdon Ave, Burnaby, BC
Time: 2:00pm - 3:00pm
Microsoft’s Office SharePoint Server is the next evolution and amalgamation of two of Microsoft’s enterprise products: SharePoint Portal Server and Content Management Server. This new server platform is a revolution of these previous technologies, not only through integrating the best of breed features, but through extending the platform into new areas of the business such as Records Management, Business Process Automation and Business Intelligence.
Many companies are looking at the platform to play a key role in an Enterprise Services Strategy, and others are looking to upgrade their current legacy systems and trying to understand what kind of challenges they’ll face. With the new platform adoption of .NET 2.0, integration with Windows Workflow Foundation, highly customizable feature set and significantly improved server architecture, the platform raises new questions for organizations such as: Where does the platform excel out of the box? Where is it appropriate to be extended and how? What should companies think seriously about before building on the platform?
Join Brian Edwards and Graham Sibley from Habanero Consulting Group as we explore the enterprise challenges the Microsoft platform is addressing with its out of the box features, where Microsoft has extended and enabled developers to build enterprise ready solutions on this platform, and what Habanero has learned about platform suitability for various enterprise applications.
