About MOSS 2007 for enterprise searching

Clearing up the MOSS vs. MOSS for Search confusion
Microsoft’s recent release of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server for Search Standard and Enterprise Editions has led to some confusion about what licensing is required to run MOSS 2007 for Search.
If your company is licensed for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and has sufficient client access licenses (CALS) for your employees, then you require no separate license for MOSS 2007 for Search.
In addition, if you are licensed for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server for Internet Sites, you do not require an additional license for MOSS 2007 for Search.
You only require the “Microsoft Office SharePoint Server for Search (Standard or Enterprise)” license if you wish to only deploy SharePoint’s search features and do not want or have not purchased other SharePoint licensing.
