Habañero, a leading Vancouver-based e-business consulting firm, today announced that it has been selected to work with Norske Skog Canada, a leading international pulp and paper company. Habañero will develop and implement strategies for Norske Skog's Internet-based corporate communications.
The project will focus on creating a strong, unique identity for the company, whose brand is relatively new to Canada, as well as enabling the harmonization and rapid dissemination of the corporate message.
Norske Skog Canada has recently undergone significant organizational change. The company, formerly Fletcher Challenge Canada, was sold to Norske Skog, a Norwegian paper producer in July 2000. Recently, the company announced its intention to acquire Pacifica Papers, a move that would make it the third largest pulp and paper company in North America.
The result will be a powerhouse combination of competencies and assets, with a clear need for synchronization of the corporate personality and external communications.
"We chose Habañero based on their long track record of success in crafting and implementing online strategies that work," says Deborah Somerville, Director of Corporate Affairs. "We are a company that values experience and reputation highly... we feel that a relationship with Habañero will help us to build important business solutions for Norske Skog Canada and, ultimately, for our customers."
Steven Fitzgerald, President and co-founder of Habañero is equally excited. "We're obviously proud to work with such a prominent industry leader as Norske Skog Canada. I am consistently impressed with the degree of e-business expertise our clients bring to the table. Norske Skog Canada is no exception - their understanding of the enabling potential of the Internet together with their keen sense of strategic purpose will certainly speed the implementation process while ensuring we deliver real business value."
The Norske Skog Canada web site is expected to launch in June 2001.
