Habañero Consulting Group (Habañero) is delighted to announce the launch of Terasen.com.
"BC Gas" no longer accurately represented the types of businesses or the geographic areas in which the company operates. Terasen provides gas delivery, petroleum transportation, water and utility services throughout western Canada and in the United States. As well, the name "BC Gas" left many people with the belief that the company was a Crown Corporation or operated by the government.
"Over the past 10 years, our core businesses have increased significantly to the point where we have simply outgrown the BC Gas name," said John Reid, Terasen Inc. president and CEO. "Terasen gives us a name and identity that allows us to pursue our goal of becoming one of North America's leading energy companies."
Habañero's challenge was to replace six uniquely branded corporate websites in just over four months with new sites that united all the lines of business under the new Terasen brand. Habañero worked with each line of business to capture their unique requirements and architect the family of Terasen websites using several content management solutions and platforms.
"One of the most exciting things about this project was that Terasen didn't simply want to slap a new logo on their old websites. They partnered with Habañero to develop a shared user experience for each line of business' website that is true to the brand, and makes it easy for users to find what they are looking for. Habañero developed significant portions of the new website using Microsoft Content Management Server (MSCMS). Search functionality was seamlessly integrated throughout the site using Verity Ultraseek.
