Habañero Presents at Microsoft Windows 20th Anniversary Event
October 20, 2005

Habañero's Director of Marketing and Business Development, John Atwater, participated in a media event in Toronto as part of Microsoft Canada's celebration of the 20th Anniversary of its Windows operating system. A select group of Microsoft partners and customers were invited to showcase innovative solutions they had built on the Windows platform to industry analysts and members of the Canadian business and technology media. The event was intended to generate excitement about the soon to be released Windows Vista by taking a look at the past, present, and future of the Windows platform.

While providing an overview of the solution Habañero developed for Kal Tire, Canada's largest independent tire dealer, Atwater discussed the business impact Kal Tire has achieved by using the latest Microsoft technologies, including Microsoft CRM, Office System 2003, and a number of .NET Smart Client applications running on Windows XP tablet edition. Kal Tire's Senior Microsoft Administer, Jeff Bevans, later demonstrated the solution as it was being used in the field to help customers make informed decisions about product selection based on cost comparison reports derived from data collected by sales reps during a sales call.

"Working alongside Microsoft CRM partner, iFusion, we were able to deliver a solution that addressed the pains Kal Tire sales reps were experiencing when using disconnected paper-based processes to manage customer information and sales activities on the road," said Atwater. "Kal Tire is using the latest Microsoft technologies to achieve both costs savings and improved sales performance, while providing measurable business value to its customers".
